Manchester United soon to Sign Antoine Griezmann

Posted on December 13, 2016 by Kareem

Manchester United have received the biggest hint that they may be edging closer towards the signing of Antoine Griezmann, as the French superstar has admitted that he wants to play with Paul Pogba even at club level.

The two share a friendship developed during the Euro 2016, and they were recently spotted hanging out together during the recent international break. It has been speculated for some time that Manchester United may use Paul Pogba as a means to sign Griezmann, who is seen as the missing link in the Jose Mourinho squad. Griezmann made his name at Real Sociedad, but he has been a player transformed since the move to Atletico Madrid.

Now regarded as one of the best players in the world, Griezmann averages around one goal per game just like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.Any doubters about his quality were proved wrong after his exploits at the Euro 2016, where he was one of the best players in the tournament. Griezmann also picked up the top scorer award at this tournament.

His incredible scoring rate has been a major factor behind clubs looking to take advantage of the £80 million release clause in his contract.

Manchester United are undoubtedly one of the club’s capable of meeting this transfer fee

The club has been on a spending spree over the last few transfer windows but without much success. After struggling to create much of an impact, summer signing Paul Pogba has been coming good of late.”I always ask Paul Pogba about Manchester United. I think they are a huge club with a really good infrastructure. I ask Paul about some of the players, and if they’re really that good, or if Jose Mourinho is really that good. You hear a lot of things [speculation] about Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain but right now I don’t see me moving to a new club,” said Griezmann.

My name is Kareem. This is my blog.

I am a massive fan of football (soccer) across the globe - mainly the English Premier League, and closer to home, the Indian Super League.

In England, I am a big fan of Manchester United, though they are still yet to return to the best of times that they had under Sir Alex Ferguson.

In India, I live in Kochin, Kerala, so there is really only one team I could support - the Kerala Blasters!

You may have read some of my work (I work in the sports department in a well-known newspaper), but this blog is all about my own personal interest, and writing for fun.
